Each guide sets their own cancellation policy. You'll always see the policy clearly before confirming any booking.
If a guide cancels due to unsafe weather or dangerous water conditions, anglers always receive a full refund regardless of the cancellation policy in place. Guides are never penalized for weather cancellations. Safety comes first — always.
If an angler fails to show up for a confirmed trip without cancelling in advance, the guide retains the full booking amount. This protects guides who have prepared equipment, blocked their calendar, and committed their day to the trip.
Refunds are returned to the original payment method within 5–10 business days depending on your bank or card issuer. Faros Guides's platform fee is refunded in full on eligible cancellations. Stripe's payment processing fee (2.9% + 30¢) may not be recoverable on partial refunds.
If a guide cancels a confirmed booking for any reason other than weather or genuine emergency, the angler receives a full refund and the guide's cancellation rate is noted on their profile. Repeated guide cancellations may result in account review.
If you believe a cancellation was handled incorrectly, contact us at support@farosguides.com within 7 days of the cancellation. We review all disputes fairly and aim to resolve them within 48 hours.
