Faros Guides is an online marketplace that connects fishing guides ("Guides") with anglers ("Anglers") seeking guided fishing experiences. Faros Guides does not employ guides, provide guide services, or guarantee the quality of any trip. We provide the platform and tools that allow Guides and Anglers to find each other and transact.
You must be at least 18 years old to use Faros Guides. By creating an account you confirm that all information you provide is accurate and that you have the legal authority to enter into these terms.
Guides are independent contractors, not employees of Faros Guides. By listing on Faros Guides you confirm that you:
Anglers agree to accurately represent themselves, their experience level, and their party when making bookings. Anglers agree to honor confirmed bookings and to comply with the cancellation policy selected by the Guide at the time of booking.
Faros Guides charges a platform fee to both Guides and Anglers on completed bookings. Current fee rates are published on our Fee Promise page. All payments are processed through Stripe. Cards are saved at booking but not charged until a Guide confirms the booking.
Faros Guides reserves the right to adjust fees for new users with 90 days advance notice. Founding guides and early adopters have their rates locked in as described in our Fee Promise.
Each Guide sets their own cancellation policy (Flexible, Moderate, or Strict). The applicable policy is shown clearly before any booking is confirmed. Weather cancellations initiated by Guides always result in a full refund to the Angler regardless of the cancellation policy in place.

Faros Guides is a marketplace platform. We are not responsible for the conduct of Guides or Anglers, the quality of fishing trips, injuries that occur during trips, or disputes between Guides and Anglers. Guides are solely responsible for the safety of their clients during guided trips.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Faros Guides's total liability to any user shall not exceed the fees paid to Faros Guides in the 12 months preceding the claim.
The Faros Guides name, logo, and platform design are proprietary. You may not use them without written permission. Content you post on Faros Guides (photos, descriptions, reviews) remains yours — you grant Faros Guides a license to display it on the platform.
We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify users of material changes by email at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of Faros Guides after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
