We built Faros Guides because guides deserve a better deal. Here's exactly what we charge, why, and what we promise never to do.

Faros Guides's fee covers payment processing infrastructure, platform hosting, credential verification, customer support, and ongoing product development. We only earn when you earn — there are no monthly fees, no subscription costs, and no setup charges.
Stripe processes all payments and charges their own fee (2.9% + 30¢ per transaction) separately. This is an industry-standard card processing cost that applies to all online bookings regardless of platform.
Anglers pay a separate 3% booking fee on top of the trip price. This is shown clearly at checkout before any payment is made. We believe in full transparency — no hidden fees, no surprises.
We never advertise the angler fee on our homepage because we don't want it to be the first thing anglers think about. But we never hide it either. It's shown clearly at checkout, every time.
100% of any tip an angler leaves goes directly to the guide. Faros Guides takes nothing. Stripe charges their standard card processing fee, but Faros Guides's cut is always zero. We think that's the right way to do it.
Founding guides and early adopters have their rates locked in for as long as Faros Guides operates. We will never raise their rates under any circumstance.
For standard guides joining after year one, we commit to giving 90 days personal notice before any rate change — not a terms of service update buried in an email. A direct message from us, personally, with plenty of time to plan.
The only thing that would ever force a rate adjustment is Faros Guides growing to the point where we need staff to serve guides better. At that point, you're already making real money through Faros Guides — and any adjustment would still keep us well below what competitors charge.
